FM-3 NON-IMMIGRANTS This type of visa is valid for one year. Renewals can be requested for four consecutive years, on an annual basis. If the visa holder wishes to remain in Mexico for more than the authorized term, a new permanence must be requested in order to stay in the country for additional time.

FM-2 IMMIGRANTS. This type of visa is valid for one year. Renewals can be requested for four consecutive years, on an annual basis. If the visa holder wishes to remain in Mexico for more than the authorized term, the foreigner may obtain the permanent residence status.

FMN VISA. This type of visa is only granted to citizens of the United States of America and Canada who plan to enter the Mexico for up to thirty days, without receiving any economic remuneration within national territory. This visa applies to various categories of business people as stipulated by NAFTA such as: BUSINESS VISITOR MERCHANT
